Job Detail:
The client is looking for a Microsoft OS Server Deployment Expert to
help with the NGW Clients deployment. As part of the deployment, The
NGW standard involves joining the Windows wireless computers to the
clients Active Directory domain, the installation of necessary
hotfixes, upgrading drivers required to support WPA2 encryption and
PEAP MsChapv2 configured automatically via AD GPO policy.

The Microsoft OS Server Deployment Expert is responsible for providing
engineering support of (existing and future) wireless laptops running
XP, SP2/SP3 (and Windows 7) to City schools wireless network.  The
Deployment Expert will work as a member of the DIIT wireless
engineering team and will work closely with the NGW Network Architect
and the NGW Systems Architect.  The wireless engineering group is
responsible for the overall NG wireless network architecture and
design, deployment process engineering and support processes for
wireless technologies in the schools.

Duties and Responsibilities
•       Implement the NGW standards to the various end user clients
including laptops, desktops, and wireless devices running the
Microsoft XP (and Windows 7) operating system.
•       Work with the wireless team on engineering, testing, implementation
and certification of computer images for DOE new wireless laptops.
•       Configure and troubleshoot various wireless clients (laptops, and
other Wi-Fi devices) to connect to the wireless networks in the
schools. This will include working with wireless adapters utilities,
drivers and configuration procedures for Windows.
•       Assist in the design and implementation of large and scalable
enterprise printing solutions.
•       Conduct extensive testing scenarios for various clients’ wireless
configurations.
•       Work with various Wireless protocols including 802.11a, 802.11g,
802.11b, 802.11i, dot1x protocols.
•       Test and Implement and document Wireless security authentication
protocols on various wireless clients including PEAP, MsChapv2, TLS,
etc.
•       Test and Implement and document Wireless encryption protocols WEP,
WPA, WPAv2, AES, etc. on
•       Create scripts to automate the configuration, testing and deployment
of thousands of wireless clients.
•       Create and test installer packages, startup scripts, login scripts.
•       Able to leverage AD Group Policy and preferences to configure
wireless.
•       Work with senior developers and architects to support the
programming development lifecycle of automated wireless configuration
applications.
•       Create standards for creating computer images in support of wireless
computing.
•       Create deployment processes for deploying computer images in support
of wireless computing
