Job Description:
This function provides expertise on database support for multiple services and applications using one or more of the current standard DBMS platforms (currently DB2 LUW, DB2 z / OS, SQL Server and Oracle). Database support includes, but is not limited to design, architect and build systems relational database to meet the economic needs and changes in demand. This position also provides the level-3 technical support to the bases of support and services. Level-3 functions usually include advanced troubleshooting, performance tuning, and documentation.
• Manage DB2 UDB great on UNIX (Solaris / AIX / Linux) operating environments.
• provide technical advice and practical support for the consolidation and migration of databases to new platforms and devices.
• provide technical expertise in all engineering capabilities, the implementation of the life cycle of the database through the planning and execution.
• The practical implementation of databases, storage facilities, high availability solutions, replication and disaster recovery solutions.
• adjust the definition of database standards and best practices for monitoring and advanced troubleshooting, performance optimization and automation
• provide guidance and direction to Level-2 production database operations team.
Skills:
• DBA experience large (8 years or more), usually with two or more of the following RDBMS platforms: DB2, Informix, Sybase, SQL Server, Oracle.
• Very good knowledge and extensive experience with DB2 UDB on AIX / Solaris is required.
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Experience with major databases and DB2 UDB DB2 DPF (data partition) is required.
• Good knowledge of operating Towers (shell scripts, monitoring, debugging) in AIX / Solaris Linux / is necessary.
• Candidates must be qualified and converted into logical data models into physical models of high performance.
• Experience with data dictionary / storage tools and software modeling Erwin.
• Experience with OLAP tools.
