Title:Oracle DBA
Location: Corning, NY
Duration: 1 year contract
Rate: $50/hr

* Experience in the industry for at least 5 years of Oracle DBA
* A solid foundation in Oracle 10g 8i/9i and internal programs and databases;
backup, alert, monitoring
* Proficiency in Windows / RHEL O / S, control, shell
scripting
* Good knowledge of Oracle technologies to install and configure the RAC, ASM
CRS, RMAN, standby
* Clear communication oral and written English
* Experience in the media in a team context
* Mainly production support role
Desired additional experience (nice-to-me):
* Experience in supporting the company's Fin / SCM and PeopleSoft HR database
* A bachelor degree or
* Knowledge and experience supporting SQL Server db
Forum
* Experience working in ITIL
* Oracle Data Guard experience
* Oracle Replication - configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting
* PL / SQL, VB / WSH, Perl scripting experience
typical functions:
* Complete PeopleSoft Database is updated
* On-call production support nights, weekends and public holidays
* Troubleshooting database performance database production
* Manage databases on Linux cluster nodes
* Oracle Application updates / corrections
* Use the explain plan, tkprof CWA, Package Statistics - recommend and implement
performance improvement
* Make a backup of different components of a database
